Well, we made it to Washington state, and wow! It was a wild ride with Vivienne, but we'll just try to repress those screaming memories and move on. (Hopefully nerve damage is not permanent!) Anyway, we are so glad to be here and we are having fun, fun, fun with everyone!!
Wednesday found us at Wild Waves, and Thursday took us to Northwest Trek. The posted slide show is a little snippet of what our visit was like there. For those of you who might not know, Northwest Trek is a wonderful wildlife park -- not a zoo. There is a large free-roaming area, and that's where we saw most of the animals in the slide show. The more predatory animals are kept in natural habitats; however, there are screen-type fences that separate them from us as we walked along the paved paths in the forest. It was absolutely beautiful and somewhat on the cool side -- a welcomed change from 100 degree weather!! Thayer LOVED discovering bears in the woods with his cousin Bridger, and Vivienne enjoyed waving to all of her animal friends (see slide show pics).
Then, Rob and I capped off the day with a lovely evening at our friend Matt's rehearsal dinner. The Crab Pot was the venue, right on the pier in Seattle, and we quite enjoyed devouring Dungeness crab, oysters, clams, etc. in a Pacific Clambake. Plus, the strawberry rhubarb cake thing they brought was phenominal! Highly recommend the place! We are really looking forward to Saturday's wedding events complete with a full Catholic mass in a beautiful chapel at Villa Academy near the University of Washington.
So, today it's off to Point Defiance and the seafood market at the docks for some fresh Salmon! Happy Friday, everyone!

Melissa, I am soo jealous! I've been missing my home state lately! The pictues are great! Looks like you're doing everything to do there. Take a deep breath of that Washington air for me! I really miss you! Have a safe trip. jess
