Thayer had heard forecasts of the possibility for days. So, in only the style that he can, he awoke to greet the morning much before light had dawned, running to turn on the back porch light to see if the snow had actually arrived. Tuesday morning proved his efforts were not in vain! There on the ground was a light hint of a white blanket -- more like cotton guaze wrapping -- with greater proof to be found in the corners and crevices of the backyard landscape. He quickly dressed for school, wrapped up for the cold, and bolted out to play before breakfast and before his carpool ride arrived. Keep in mind, our elementary schools' tardy bells ring at 7:30 a.m., so he was out quite early, as the darkness of the picture's background proves. He made a bowl full of snowballs, which I am diligently trying to keep a home for in the freezer. And, we celebrated with snowman pancakes.
The joys of childhood constantly teach me to treasure the moments that rush by so quickly. We hope to see you again soon, Mr. Snow!

Those pancakes are super cute! Love them! And I'm happy to send a few snow days your way. ;)
You want to see snow soon? Just come to MN! We've got piles and piles of it. Our whole state has been covered in a blanket of white since early Dec. It doesn't melt and it just keeps on falling!
We love snowman pancakes! And, Loni, we'd love to come play in your snow. When should we arrive? :-) Plus, I know Thayer would LOVE your girls!
If you want snow come now! Otherwise, anytime after April 27--then we'll have a place for you to stay in our new house!! I bet the kids would get along famously!
